About The Event

We invite you to sit down at our table to learn about indigenous communities near and far via our digital Cultural Talk Story Series.

"Māori: Ngā Pae Wānanga a Hine (Learning Across Many Depths of Hine)" with Tina Ngata and Dr. Peter Mataira

The Story: This discussion will traverse the many socio political realities of Indigenous people across time from the inception of the Doctrine of Discovery to the current COVID and BLM contexts. It will move from global Indigeous spheres, through to domestic and regional Māori spheres, to understand the fullness of the story as an Indigenous woman, as a Wahine Māori, as a Ngāti Porou woman.
